Join us on Montana's Madison River at Kelly Galloup's Slide Inn

Seven nights and six days in the Holy Land of fly fishing! We've done this trip 3 times since 2005 and it's always a smashing success! We've already made plans for our return and booked the space. We'll stay on the Madison River at the Slide Inn. You'll have a cabin only a few yards from the river. From your cabin you'll have about five miles of access to the Madison, more than you could fish in two weeks. The trip also includes 3 float trips on the Madison. You will also have three days to explore Yellowstone National Park or other famous trout waters on your own. Within a short drive you can find yourself on the Gallatin, Henry's Fork, Firehole, Gibbon, Gardner, Yellowstone, Lamar, or Lewis Rivers. This small corner of the world has more famous trout water than anywhere else.

September is our favorite time in Yellowstone Country. Weather is still mild, crowds have dwindled from the summer, and fishing is superb. Bull elk battle for females in the park while herds of buffalo migrate to the sheltered meadows along the river bottoms. Fat trout watch for wayward hoppers from under cut banks and blue wing olives hatch during the first cool days of autumn. We spend at least two weeks here every year and know the country well. Ian has made the trip 9 times and Charity has been 4 times. We will not be your guides, but we will accompany you the whole way. We will make recommendations on flies, tackle, clothing to bring, and spend time with you out on the water.

The Slide Inn is owned and operated by Kelly Galloup. Kelly has been a guide for 30 years and is a noted author and editor-at-large for Fly Fisherman magazine. Kelly is also the host of Fly Fish TV on Outdoor Life Network. The Slide Inn is operated strictly as a fly fishing facility, so the staff and guides know exactly why you have come. The guides Kelly employs are among the best in the Rockies.

The Slide Inn will prepare breakfast for us every morning before we head out. Your guide will bring lunch along on your float trips. Dinner will be waiting for you every evening back at Slide Inn. Each river front cabin has one queen and one full size bed, a private bathroom and shower. All rooms are just steps from the river.

This year we are offering two different packages for the week. All include meals and rooms. You choose how many days of guided fishing you want. We have arranged one package with 5 days of guided fishing. A second package with 3 days of guided fishing will allow you to explore some on your own as well as using a guide.

Price does not include travel, fishing licenses, tackle or gratuities.
